Postdoc at 50: Imagining The Future
All Day Conference
Saturday, January 21, 2012 830 am – 500 pm
NYU Kimmel Center, Rosenthal Pavilion
60 Washington Square South
In psychoanalysis, as in life, milestones are often times for critical reflection. In this light, we are delighted to offer this special all-day clinical conference at New York University in celebration of Postdoc’s 50th anniversary year.
As you know, New York University’s Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy & Psychoanalysis has from its beginnings been at the cutting edge, anticipating trends in psychoanalytic education that were decades ahead of the mainstream. We have long been known for a commitment to academic freedom within the context of a major university, dialogue among multiple points of view, the interweaving of theory and practice, a comparative approach in which students never have to make narrow ideological commitments, and for respecting the candidate as a mature colleague who we can trust will develop his or her own unique psychoanalytic approach.
As we celebrate our 50th year providing postdoctoral education in psychotherapy & psychoanalysis we gather to consider the future of clinical practice. Throughout our 50th year our numerous events, colloquia, workshops and conferences all focus on the spontaneous and lively discussion of clinical material, real therapeutic moments and transactions. In this one day conference, we invite you to gather with our faculty, graduates, and candidates for a day of concentrated learning in which we will examine clinical process in detail and from multiple perspectives.
Come join us for what will be a special day!
